Cotton Candy
What happens if you heat and spin sugar into thin threads?
Cotton candy…
But where is the cotton?
Guess what they call cotton candy here in Greece?
Mallias tis grias or mallias tis yiayia
Grey Hair or Granny’s Hair
This is the junk my mother would never buy for me. She said it’s a waste of money.
But when I had a bit of money I would secretly buy one.
Don’t you just love those sugar sticking on your face?
See you next week… I will be out of Greece for few days.
Hi Sha,
Cotton candy- childhood memories…

In late 1980s and early 1990s it was available everywhere in Estonia – we called it ‘suhkruvatt’ or ‘sugar cotton’. I loved it, but haven’t really seen it recently. Thanks for bringing back nice memories!
Enjoy your trip!
