“Oh, God above, if heaven has a taste it must be an egg with butter and salt, and after the egg is there anything in the world lovelier than fresh warm bread and a mug of sweet golden tea?â€
Frank McCourt, ‘Angela’s Ashes’ (1996)

I loved Angela’s Ashes by Frank McCourt. I’ve read it several years ago. Dutchman read it too after my incessant nagging. After he did, he bought a Dutch version and gave it to his father as a gift on his birthday. Now everyone in the family has read it, lol.
I always have eggs in my fridge but not too many. I used them for weekend breakfast, sunny side up or omelette mixed with vegies and aromatic herbs. I also use them for baking… the other day was a baked witlof [dunno the english term] and brussels sprouts with ground beef layered with thinly sliced potatoes in between… and topped with a sauce concoction mixed with milk and an egg.
