She spoke no English and I speak no Turkish word… but who needs words when you only need to smell the aromatic herbs and do sign language for how much.
We were dining out in Kas, Turkey when she passed by with her basket full of wild mountain herbs..
I bought a bunch of oregano and the guests got thyme for 5TL each , that is € 2.5
This was the moment I wished I had my camera but the phone took a good shot anyway.
this is a great photo. i agree, there are times words are not needed to communicate. i bet those herbs made your dishes taste well. i love fresh herbs.
I think your phone cam took a very good picture. You pretty much captured the essence of that moment. Amazing. I could almost smell those herbs. 🙂
I think we need to hurry to discover Turkey before they become members of the European Union and the more autenthic turkey start to dissappear
