artichokes
I spent my day outside London yesterday to visit a friend and we boiled some artichokes for lunch. The artichokes were from the garden and nothing can compare to homegrown vegetables… freshly harvested and prepared.
But nothing can compare the joy of pulling each leaf off the choke, dragging the leaf between teeth and once all leaves been eaten, comes the heart of the artichoke.
wow nice shots. so you are currently in loondon?
What do you know! I just posted an entry of pasta with artichokes.
You’re right Sha, eating it the way you described is heaven!!
hi sha! we love artichokes! There is something sensual about pulling it through your teeth, isn’t it? 🙂 Your friend is lucky to have it in her backyard. I haven’t been able to find decent ones in the market lately.
Lovely photos as usual 🙂
Gorgeous photos of artichokes. I love them too. And for them to come from one’s garden…sublime!
Oh how lovely! Lovely photos, lovely words. I have tried artichoke but they were always drenched in sauce!

Beautiful pictures! Really gorgeous…
It’s been too long since I’ve had fresh artichokes! Nearly impossible to come by here…your pictures are beautifil! 🙂
Your pictures are definitely getting better. The balance of shading and light is just on the spot. I especially love the first pictures you sent me of baby Andreas and Tara – lovely gradients of shadings.
